TPFS Accreditation Pathway
The Pelvic Floor Society’s Accreditation Pathway for Pelvic Floor Unit Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDTs).
1) Self-Assessment
The unit applying for accreditation fills out a Self-Assessment Form, describing how they meet criteria and attaching evidence where requested. This takes the form of a scorecard so that units can feel confident before submitting their application for accreditation.
The person filling out and sending the application form should be a member of The Pelvic Floor Society (TPFS).
Download the Self-Assessment Form here >
2) Submission
Before sending the form to TPFS, the unit should discuss their submission with Departmental/Divisional Clinical Lead or Medical Director. They must not be a member of the Pelvic Floor MDT.
The Clinical Lead or Medical Director signs the application form off prior to sending.
Please submit your form with attachments by email to the Jonathan Randall Jonathan.Randall@uhbw.nhs.uk, Chair of TPFS QA and Clinical Governance Committee and info@thepelvicfloorsociety.org.uk
3) Peer Review
An independent peer review is carried out by at least four peers who are ordinary members of TPFS. They feedback to the Committee Chair as to whether these standards are met or where components of unit performance may be improved.
4) Debrief
The submitting unit will be told if they have been successful or not and then invited to a virtual debrief with Committee Chair. Areas of excellence and suggestions from other MDTs will be made at this time.
Unsuccessful submissions will be invited to resubmit in the future.
